Cardtronics Offers Fee-Free ATMs at Valero Corner Stores

PrintCardtronics Offers Fee-Free ATMs at Valero Corner Stores

HOUSTON -- Cardtronics Inc. has teamed up with commercial bank BBVA Compass to offer fee-free cash access at 178 of the former's ATMs in Colorado. Select Valero Corner Stores locations will house the ATMs. Safeway and Costco stores will also be home to the ATMs.

"Branding Cardtronics' ATMs at Valero Corner Stores, Safeway and Costco stores makes BBVA Compass stronger and more accessible in Colorado," said Andy Hernandez, executive vice president, ATM & Online Channel at BBVA Compass. "These additional ATMs give our customers convenient and fee-free access to cash in a retail environment, where they're most likely to need it."

The fee-free ATMs are primarily located in Denver and Colorado Springs.

"Saving BBVA Compass customers the ATM fee, while providing surcharge-free cost certainty for the bank, defines the financial benefit," said Rick Updyke, president, U.S. Business Group, Cardtronics. "As for lifestyle enhancement, ATM branding is about getting BBVA Compass closer to its customers and meeting them on their terms, in the retail world when a cash need arises."

Houston-based Cardtronics owns and operates more than 61,700 retail ATMs worldwide.

BBVA Compass operates more than 710 bank branches in Colorado, Texas, Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida and New Mexico.
