Why Is 7-Eleven on the NRA's Anti-Gun List?

PrintWhy Is 7-Eleven on the NRA's Anti-Gun List?

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Inc., the largest convenience store chain in the United States, is on a list of organizations, corporations, media outlets, celebrities and others that the National Rifle Association (NRA) says are "anti-gun," according to a report by the local CBS DFW television station.

Only problem is 7-Eleven doesn't have a position on guns and has no idea why it's on the NRA's list of "National Corporations with Anti-Gun Policies." Adding to its consternation, the company has been unable to get an explanation from the association about why it's on the list, nor has it been able to get itself removed, a company spokesperson told the news outlet.

The list includes more than 500 companies, organizations and individuals, ranging from the AARP to the YWCA. Among the other companies on the list are Levi Strauss, Ben & Jerry's, Carter Hawley Hale Stores and Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt. Meanwhile, George Clooney, Beyonce, Billy Crystal, Jane Fonda and Dustin Hoffman are among the many "anti-gun" celebrities listed. According to the NRA, these organizations and individuals have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations.
