WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC hopes to hit the bull's-eye with its latest hiring.

The convenience store operator hired Marty Roush as vice president, operations for its South division. Roush joins Kum & Go from Target Corp., where he led operations for the retailer's stores in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

At Kum & Go, Roush will oversee operations -- including managing sales, safety protocol and talent development -- at 158 c-stores in three states.

"Marty's retail industry expertise and passion for service excellence are tremendous assets as we continue to grow the company," Kum & Go President Kyle J. Krause said in a press release. "He understands what it takes for a business to flourish in a competitive market. We're very pleased to welcome him aboard."

Roush received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Iowa State University.
