Pilot Flying J Prepares for Hurricane Sandy
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Pilot Flying J is getting ready for Hurricane Sandy's likely effects on the Northeast by activating its Emergency Preparedness Team and holding daily conference calls as weather models update, the company stated on its Facebook page. The travel center chain plans to move generators into the area so it can quickly deploy them to affected locations as the storm makes landfall. Additionally, Pilot Flying J's transportation department is keeping a close eye on inventory levels at these locations, as well as those on the Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina coast. The company will keep all tanks full and has not heard of any rack closures, it stated. It plans to update customers as conditions warrant.
