Thorntons Opens Second Florida Store

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thorntons Inc. continued its Florida entrance by opening its second convenience store within the state on Dec. 30, according to a Bizjournals.com report.

The new store, located at 8875 Ulmerton Road in Largo, will operate 24 hours a day, reported the Largo Patch.

In early December, the Louisville, Ky.-based c-store chain opened its first Florida store in Clearwater. Fifteen to 20 new stores are expected to open in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area over the next three years.

The company currently operates 168 gas stations, c-stores, car washes and travel plazas in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio Tennessee and Florida.
