Thornton's Chocolate Promotion Takes Customers on Safari

LONDON -- Thorntons Inc. teamed up with Woburn Safari Park to offer customers two free children's tickets with every purchase of a box of its Moments chocolates, TalkingRetail.com reported.

The on-pack promotion will appear on 500,000 boxes of Moments throughout the summer. These chocolates can be found in all 620 Thorntons stores, as well as major supermarkets and other convenience stores, the report stated. However, Moments was launched by Thorntons last April and was the company's first premium twist-wrapped product.

"Woburn is a great family destination that is all about sharing fun experiences with the whole family, so is a perfect brand fit with Thorntons Moments," Sarah Bates, Moments brand manager, said in the report. "We wanted to partner with another fun, family focused brand that was in keeping with the values of Moments. In the last year Moments has built up a broad customer base and we wanted to reward them with that little something extra and this on pack offer will certainly appeal to them during the summer months."

Along with the two free children's tickets in every pack, customers can also enter a competition to win a VIP weekend at Woburn, which includes a trip to the Safari Park, The Abbey and the Deer Park, and a night at The Inn at Woburn.

The Moments packaging was redesigned to reflect the activity and the box now includes many Safari favorites and animal-themed chocolate names, the report stated.
