Tesoro Names Executive Promotion

SAN ANTONIO -- Tesoro Corp. promoted Charles Parrish to executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. Parrish joined Tesoro in 1994 and served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary since 2006.

Parrish is responsible for all the company’s legal affairs, leading Tesoro’s legal department and contract administration function, as well as its business ethics and compliance office. He contributes significant industry, legal and financial expertise as a member of the executive team, and works closely with the company’s finance and financial reporting teams on all matters related to the company’s capital structure and securities act reporting. In addition, he provides valuable counsel to the company’s management and board of directors on corporate governance issues, Tesoro stated.

Before joining Tesoro, Parrish worked in private practice with law firms in Houston and San Antonio, primarily representing commercial lenders with loan transactions, workouts and real estate matters. He received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia and his juris doctor from the University of Houston Law School.

He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.
