CASPER, Wyo. -- Tesoro Corp. has begun converting the former Albertsons Fuel Express locations it acquired in Wyoming to its USA Gasoline brand, following its September purchase of 51 Albertsons locations in seven states, the Casper Star-Tribune reported.
The Casper, Wyo., station at the corner of Casper Street and Cy Avenue is among the first to complete the transition, according to the report. Albertsons Spokeswoman Lilia Rodriguez said the location made the change on Sunday and now carries Tesoro's USA Gasoline brand.
The former Albertsons stations in Laramie and Cheyenne will change over on Jan. 18 and 19, she added.
Tesoro purchased the 51 stations, spread across Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming, for $34 million with plans to invest $5 million in branding capital. Their combined fuel sales total more than 5,000 barrels a day, the company said.
The chain has already completed rebranding stations in other states. As CSNews Online previously reported, Tesoro expected to transition three Albertsons Fuel Express stations it acquired in the Tri Cities area of Washington State by the end of 2011.
