Teeing Off For Charity

TEMPLE, Texas -- CEFCO Convenience Stores will host its sixth annual "Hackers-R-Us" Golf Tournament at Mill Creek Country Club in Salado, Texas on Monday, May 7. Since the inaugural tournament in May 2002, CEFCO has raised over $200,000 for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

This year, the convenience chain will be joined by 17-year-old Tanner Belanger, a life- long cystic fibrosis patient at Scott & White, who is a star player on the Lampasas High School Varsity golf team, and hopes to play for Texas A&M after graduation. RCA recording artist Jeff Bates; Nashville singer/songwriter Kenny Beard; and a new upcoming country artist, Aly Cutter, will also participate in the event.

Tanner and the thousands of other children throughout Central Texas who are coping with chronic illnesses and injuries are why CEFCO employees work year round to raise money and awareness for the Children's Hospital at Scott & White, CEFCO said.

CEFCO Convenience Stores have been operating in Central Texas since 1979.

Donations to CMN at the Children's Hospital at Scott & White enable the purchase of much-needed equipment, provide care for those who are unable to pay, and support services, such as Pediatric Education, Social Services, and Child Life.
