TA Opens First Medical Clinic in New Jersey

Infinity Medical Services will operate the facility located off of Interstate 295.

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Center brands of travel stops, will open a new medical clinic this week at its Petro location in Bordentown, N.J. This is the chain’s first medical clinic in New Jersey and its 18th medical service nationwide.

The clinic, located at exit 57 off Interstate 295, will offer Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exams, an on-site pharmacy and a full range of medical services for professional drivers, including illness and injury treatment, wellness exams, screenings, laboratory services and vaccinations.

A grand-opening celebration is planned for Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. All professional drivers and fleets are invited to meet the staff, tour the facility and enter to win a free DOT physical examination. Refreshments will be served and the first 100 attendees will receive a free lunch cooler. Fleets also can sign up for business account discounted pricing during the grand opening.

The Bordentown clinic will be operated by Infinity Medical Services LLC and staffed by board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners. It will be the first facility operated by Infinity Medical, which specializes in DOT medical services throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

"FMCSA [Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration] rules in effect beginning May 2014 require professional driver medical fitness exams be conducted by certified medical examiners with an FMCSA National Registry," stated Tom O'Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters of America. "We are happy to provide these services conveniently to drivers and fleets."

Infinity Medical will employ on-site, U.S. DOT- and FMCSA-certified technicians to collect samples for employment-related screenings using DOT-approved equipment. Medical Review Officer services will also be available, and all screenings will be sent out to certified laboratories.

Westlake, Ohio-based TravelCenters of America operates 244 travel centers in 41 states and Canada under the TA and Petro Stopping Centers brands.
