Susser Holdings Expects Q3 Merchandise Sales to Grow 4 Percent

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Susser Holdings Corp. expects to report same-store merchandise sales growth for the third quarter of 2009 of approximately 4 percent, it said in a statement.

Retail average per-store fuel volumes are expected to increase 5.5 percent year-over-year.

For the first nine months of the year, Susser expects to report an increase in same-store merchandise sales at its convenience stores of approximately 4.8 percent year-over-year. Retail average per-store fuel volumes are also expected to be 5.5-percent higher for the nine-month period.

Susser will release its third quarter 2009 financial and operating results Nov. 4, before the market opens.

Susser Holdings is a third-generation, family led business that operates more than 520 convenience stores in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma under the Stripes and Town & Country banners.

Restaurant service is available in more than 300 of its stores, primarily under the proprietary Laredo Taco Company and Country Cookin' brands. The company also supplies branded motor fuel to approximately 380 independent dealers through its wholesale fuel division.
