CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sunoco, the official pit stop of NASCAR, will be the official "pin stop" for NASCAR Day pins this year, according to The NASCAR Foundation. Fans will be able to visit participating APlus at Sunoco locations to make a donation, and anyone making a donation of $5 or more will receive a collectible lapel pin.
This is the first year Sunoco will carry the pins at APlus locations. The promotion will run from April 1, until May 18.
Celebrated May 15, NASCAR Day is an opportunity for fans, corporations, schools and organizations across the country to donate to The NASCAR Foundation to raise funds to help thousands of children live better lives. Proceeds raised will benefit both The NASCAR Foundation and Children's Miracle Network.
"Sunoco has long been a proud supporter of Children's Miracle Network and we are excited to join with The NASCAR Foundation to raise awareness for worthy causes," said Drew Kabakoff, Sunoco's manager of branded marketing. "By working together we can help children in need and give back to the community."
Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children's hospitals, creating miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children each year.
"We are looking forward to revving up our relationship with Sunoco by bringing The NASCAR Foundation into our fundraising campaign," said Scott Burt, president and CEO, Children's Miracle Network. "Children's Miracle Network hospitals treat 17 million children across the country each year and we are hopeful that Sunoco customers and NASCAR fans will help support the Children's Miracle Network hospital in their community."
Since it began in 2004, NASCAR Day has raised more than $6.5 million for charity, truly uniting the industry to help those in need.
