Sunoco, ACME Markets Join for Gas Rewards in Philly

PHILADELPHIA -- Petroleum marketer and convenience store operator Sunoco Inc. teamed up with grocery chain ACME Markets to launch ACME GAS REWARDS, a new reward program that offers savings at the pump to customers each time they make a qualifying purchase at one of 52 participating ACME locations in Pennsylvania.

Through the program, customers can earn a gas discount of up to 25 cents off per gallon of gas, up to 20 gallons, when using their ACME GAS REWARDS card at a local Sunoco station, the companies stated.

"At Sunoco, we continue to look for new ways to provide value to our customers. Through partnerships like this one, we can reward their loyalty and help them save more," Bob Owens, senior vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "ACME GAS REWARDS is simple, easy and can deliver real savings to our customers each time they fuel up."

Starting Friday, customers could instantly receive an ACME GAS REWARDS card by making a $50 or more purchase. The one-time-use card can be used at any of the 75 participating Sunoco locations. In addition, the more customers spend at ACME grocery locations, the higher the fuel savings. By spending $50, customers can earn a 5-cent discount per gallon; for $100, customers earn 10 cents off; spending $150 earns 15 cents off; a $200 purchase earns 20 cents off; and $250 or more spent at ACME earns 25 cents off per gallon.

There is no limit to the number of cards earned, and each card is valid through January 2010 at more than 75 Sunoco locations, according to the companies.
