Subway Looks to Boost December Sales By Offering $2 Sandwiches

MILFORD, Conn. -- Subway is making an effort to boost traditionally slow December sales by offering two of its six-inch sandwiches for only $2 each this month, according to media reports.

Tony Pace, marketing chief for the company's franchisee advertising fund, said this is the lowest price on six-inch subs that Subway has offered in years. The reduced price is available only for its Meatball Marinara and Cold Cut Combo subs.

Customers who purchase or reload a Subway Card for $25 through Dec. 29 also will receive a free regular six-inch sandwich, according to Nation's Restaurant News. "Subway wants to show its customers some love this holiday season when everyone is worried about their economic future," the company stated.

Subway also announced its Western Egg & Cheese sub is the $5 Footlong this month, making the breakfast sandwich available all day.
