Stripes President Steve DeSutter Leaving Company

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Steve DeSutter is stepping down from his position as president of Stripes LLC, the retail division of Susser Holdings Corp. He will leave his post effective Feb. 28. The retail segment will report directly to Sam L. Susser, chairman and CEO of Susser Holdings, on an interim basis, the company said.

"He has been dedicated to helping us grow our business while helping to build one of the most committed management teams in the industry. We are grateful for the many new ideas and business processes that our retail team has implemented during Steve's five and a half years with us. We wish him all the best in his next endeavor."

DeSutter joined Susser Holdings in June 2008. He previously served as executive vice president of TurnWorks Inc. from September 2006 to June 2008 where, in an advisory role, he was interim executive vice president of operations for QIP Holder LLC (parent company of sandwich franchise Quiznos) from July 2007 to January 2008.

DeSutter also had extensive experience with Burger King Corp., where he served as executive vice president and president of Europe and Middle East operations from December 2005 to August 2006; executive vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific from December 2004 to November 2005; and senior vice president of corporate communications from August 2004 to November 2004.

Prior to joining Burger King, DeSutter was senior vice president with TurnWorks Inc. from July 2001 until July 2004. He began his career at British Petroleum, where he worked in a variety of operations, marketing and finance roles during his 18 years at the company.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in commerce from Niagara University in New York State.

Susser Holdings Corp. is a third-generation, family-led business based in Corpus Christi that operates 627 convenience stores in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, with 580 under the Stripes banner and 47 under the Sac-N-Pac banner. Restaurant service is available in approximately 400 of its stores, primarily under the proprietary Laredo Taco Co. brand.

Susser Holdings also is majority owner and owns the general partner of Susser Petroleum Partners LP, which distributes approximately 1.6 billion gallons of motor fuel annually to Stripes stores, independently operated consignment locations, convenience stores and retail fuel outlets operated by independent operators and other commercial customers in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
