Starbucks to Open First Tazo Tea Store

SEATTLE -- Starbucks Corp. will open its first Tazo tea shop this fall, according to the Huffington Post.

The store will open near Starbucks' headquarters in Seattle, and will include a tea bar where customers can blend their own tea mixes with the help of a store employee the company calls a "tea partner," the news outlet reported.

The Tazo tea store will offer more than 80 varieties of loose-leaf tea, tea lattes and ice teas, as well as packaged chocolates, pastries and other food, according to the news source.

The Huffington Post theorized that the move is Starbucks' latest attempt to expand beyond its 17,000 flagship stores.

According to several reports, Starbucks also plans to begin selling single-cup coffee machines this fall.

Starbucks acquired Tazo in 1999.
