Star Ready to Get Snuffed
Star Scientific Inc. said it plans to aggressively pursue the smokeless tobacco market after it received a license from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to manufacture smokeless tobacco products.
In a statement, the company said it is installing equipment for its "hard-snuff cigalett" Ariva products at a facility in Chase City, Va.
As reported in April, Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. gained exclusive reselling rights for Ariva under a multiyear tobacco supply pact.
