Speakers Revealed for RBG's Independent C-store Expo
OAK BROOK, Ill. -- The speakers for Royal Buying Group's 2009 Independent C-store Expo have been named, with topics for the Feb. 19, 2009 conference focusing on tobacco store operations and foodservice.
The convention, taking place at the Marriott Chicago Oak Brook hotel here, will feature Lou Maiellano, president of TAZ Marketing & Consulting Group, discussing the status of Other Tobacco Products (OTP) in 2009. Maiellano is an active member of the Convenience Retailer Conference Advisory Council and chairs its tobacco subcommittee.
Steve Montgomery, president of consultancy firm b2b Solutions, will speak at a foodservice session on profitability. The session is designed for those new to foodservice, and will discuss the calculation of projected gross margins, production forecasting, waste management and other aspects of foodservice that can impact its profitability.
b2b Solutions specializes in c-store retailing and petroleum marketing, and Montgomery has more than 30 years experience with c-store companies including Dairy Mart and Amoco Oil Co.
Also scheduled is an operations session called "Employee Retention Topics & Training," which will feature Mark Wells, president of LJT Management Services. Wells worked for Texaco Oil and Marathon Oil, and has developed training programs for Marathon, Amoco, BP, Texaco, Shell and Chevron.
Another operations session, titled "Business Succession, Estate, Liquidity Planning for Privately Held Business," will be presented by brothers Terrance and Lee Resnick, of Resnick & Associates, an estate, business succession, and life insurance planning firm.
