Southwest Convenience Stores Support the USO

ODESSA, Texas -- Southwest Convenience Stores, LLC, the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the U.S., is joining with the United Service Organizations (USO) for a new fundraising partnership. This month, participating stores in New Mexico and Texas will offer customers an opportunity to demonstrate their support for America's troops by making a $1 donation to the USO and signing a specially designed flag that will be hung in the store.

Odessa, Texas-based Southwest Convenience Stores, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ALON USA, has more than 200 stores located in West Texas and New Mexico.

"We are excited about this promotion with Southwest Convenience Stores," Edward A. Powell, USO president and CEO, said in a statement. "With their support, the USO can continue to make a difference in the lives of service members and their families."

John West, director of sales and marketing for Southwest Convenience Stores, added: "We thank the USO for the work they perform every day for our military members and their families. We hope our efforts will help the troops and their families through the many outstanding programs the USO provides."

The USO currently operates more than 130 centers worldwide, eight of which are in Texas. Each center provides morale-boosting programs and services to troops and their families. As a nonprofit organization, the USO relies on the generosity of the American public to support its vital work.
