CSNews 10th Annual Store Design Contest Kicks Off

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — For the 10th year, Convenience Store News is accepting entries from c-store chains and single-store owners for its annual Store Design Contest. The program honors both new and rebuilt convenience stores whose designs excel in areas such as interior layout, use and effectiveness of signage and logos, and exterior property and landscaping.

Awards will be presented separately to chains and single stores in six different categories based on the scope of the project and the store's overall look. This year's award categories are:

  • Best Original Store Design (new build)
  • Best Interior Design (new build)
  • Best "Green" Design
  • Best Low Cost Remodel (less than $100,000)
  • Best Mid-Budget Remodel ($100,000 to $250,000)
  • "The Sky's the Limit" Remodel (more than $250,000)

Entries will be accepted through July 1, with a handling fee of $125 for chains and $75 for single stores.

Construction or remodeling of eligible stores must have taken place between January 2014 and February 2015. Winners will be selected based on innovation, creativity and the positive impact of the design and/or remodel on the retailer's overall business.

All entries must include a completed official entry form; a brief description of the store; design/remodel objectives; challenges and results; and before-and-after images. Multiple entries by one company in each category are permitted as long as the designs are different and unique.
