Midway Travel Plaza Makes Its TV Debut

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Did you have your television tuned to the Travel Channel last night? If so, you witnessed the premiere of the network's "Truck Stop Missouri," the new reality show that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the Midway Travel Plaza just west of here.

During last night's premiere of the show, a couple hundred people gathered at the store to view the program, according to Connect Midmissouri.com.

Julie Klusmeyer, Midway Travel Plaza's motel manager, told the website filming began in March and ended just two weeks ago. "It's really wild, but it's huge and you've got Travel Channel and other networks here, so for Columbia, it's a really big thing," she said.

According to Connect Midmissouri.com, the show seemed to be a hit for the crowd gathered at the store, and those in attendance hoped for a second season of the program.
