Shell Dealers Support Joshua House

HOUSTON -- Motiva Enterprises LLC said Shell-branded retailers in western Florida would donate a portion of their September gas sales to Joshua House, a program of the Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS). The "Pump A Penny" fundraiser, which kicks off on Sept. 1, is expected to raise $15,000.

More than 100 dealers from Tampa to Naples will participate in the fundraiser. The contribution will be $0.01 per gallon for three days based on average daily September sales. To help generate awareness and increase the total donation, dealers participating will display point-of-purchase signage promoting the fundraiser.

Joshua House, based in Lutz, Fla., offers social services such as foster care, adoption, pregnancy services, family and individual counseling, child abuse prevention, emergency shelters, group homes, case management and treatment for developmentally disabled children.

"Many Florida Shell dealers have been champions of the Children's Home Society of Florida for several years," said Paul Stanifer, Motiva's Southeast general manager. "Every dollar raised can help another family or abused child change their lives for the better."

In addition to the Pump A Penny fundraiser, Motiva field personnel volunteer their time to Joshua House. Area Florida Shell retailers also sponsor the course at the annual Michelin Joshua House Golf Classic.

"We're so pleased to give back to our community and contribute to the well being of Florida families," said Ray Petrus, a an independent Shell dealer based in Tampa, Fla. "Between the Pump A Penny campaign and our annual sponsorship of the Joshua House Golf Classic, Shell retailers are committed to charitable causes in South Florida."
