Shell Coolband Accepts Cybera Wireless Broadband

GRAPEVINE, Texas -- Shell Oil approved Cybera's Wireless Broadband network connectivity solutions for use within the Shell Coolband program, the supplier stated.

The Coolband program provides a set of approved network connectivity options for Shell-branded payment solutions. With this approval, any Shell-branded retailer can access Shell's payment processing solutions through Cybera's managed Wireless Broadband services, according to the company.

"When we considered Cybera's wireless products for the Coolband program we focused on PCI compliance and reliability," Scott Taylor, wholesale technology advisor for Shell, said in a statement. "Our goal is to ensure a fast, secure and consistent payment experience for customers of Shell-branded locations. Our jobbers basically want fast deployment of a dependable broadband solution and that's exactly what Cybera has delivered."

Cybera's fully managed services are deployed in the c-store environment and meet three criteria -- rapid deployment for store grand openings, primary network connectivity and diverse-routed broadband backup, the company stated.

"With a wide variety of network access options and the ability to support all store applications, our solutions are a natural fit for the convenience store environment," Dan Glennon, senior vice president of marketing and strategy for Cybera, said in a statement. "Customers tell us the ability to be up and running payment applications within 24 hours of ordering service is just what they need -- fast and simple without the headaches of satellite based services."
