Sheetz Recognized Among Ohio's Best Employers

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz is one of only 10 large Ohio companies to receive the Best Employers in Ohio award, and ranked No. 4 in the 2010 survey, the company reported.

Winners were chosen by the Best Companies Group through a two-part process of evaluation, in which 25 percent of a company's score was based on workplace policies, philosophy, systems and demographics, while 75 percent consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

The combined scores determined the final rankings. Sheetz received this honor for the fourth time in the past five years, and also took a spot on a similar list in North Carolina, while it has made Pennsylvania's list for the eighth year in a row.

"This is a tremendous honor," Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, said in a released statement. "It is extra special because the award reflects what our employees think of this company. It is gratifying to know our employee family is as happy with us as we are with them."

The Best Employers in Ohio survey and award program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the state of Ohio, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses, according to the company. Sheetz was evaluated for its workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, and employees were questioned on their experiences. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.
