Sheetz Promotes New Head of Human Resources

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc.'s vice president of human resources, Phil Freeman, is leaving the company after 19 years of service to the convenience store operator, and Stephanie Hoover, the current manager of internal communications, will succeed Freeman in his role, the company stated.

"It was a difficult decision to leave Sheetz, but I've decided to take some time to pursue other career opportunities and interests," Freeman said in a statement. "Everything I know about running a business the right way, I've learned here at Sheetz. I am so appreciative of everything this company has done for me professionally and personally."

Freeman began his career with Sheetz in 1988 as corporate controller in the finance department. In 1996, he was promoted to vice president and controller, and four years later, was promoted to lead the human resources department for Sheetz, according to the company.

Hoover will assume the role of vice president of human resources for Sheetz. She began her career at Sheetz as manager of human resources for CLI Transport, Sheetz' dedicated fuel carrier, and brings seven years of company experience to the position, the company stated.

"Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to her new role," Stan Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz, said in a statement. "We'll miss Phil terribly but we're excited to begin a new chapter of growth with Stephanie's leadership in human resources."
