Sheetz Opens 35th Store in North Carolina

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. is opening a new store today in McGee's Crossroads, near Benson, N.C., and holding grand-opening festivities to mark the occasion. The first 50 customers to visit the store, located at 13433 NC Highway 210, received a $100 Sheetz Z-card.

"People are lined up and waiting when we get to the store to cut the ribbon," said Stan Sheetz, president and CEO. "We can't wait to serve new customers and work to give them the best ever experience in our stores. We love to see them being as excited as we are to open."

The new store will employ approximately 40 people, including management positions. It is the first to be built in Johnston County and the 35th overall in the state. To commemorate the opening, Sheetz will make a donation to the North Carolina division of longtime charity partner, Special Olympics, the company reported.

The 6,500-square-foot store features fresh food items including the chain’s MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, doughnuts and muffins, as well as its signature MTO line of Angus burgers, premium chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads and more. A Sheetz Bros. Coffeez full-service espresso and smoothie bar also serves up hot, frozen and iced specialty coffee drinks.

"Sheetz has a legacy of innovation, customer focus and employee development," said Sheetz. "The company's mission today is meeting the needs of customers on the go by providing fast and friendly service, quality products in clean and convenient locations."
