ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. promoted 12-year employee Jim Wenner to the position of vice president of Information Technology.
In this newly created role, he will be responsible for providing strategic direction for the two primary functions of technology at Sheetz. He will also provide support/maintenance of existing systems, the development of new systems and ensure that Information Technology resources meet the needs of the business.
"Jim brings a great deal of knowledge and ability to this new position," Joe Sheetz, executive vice president of finance, said in a statement. "Over the years he has been involved in the successful execution of many company-wide systems, including the start up of our distribution center. We are very fortunate to have him as the leader of our technology group."
Wenner began his career at Sheetz in 1996 as the manager of programming services. In 1999, he was promoted to director of programming services where he was responsible for systems and application development. Since 2006, Jim played an important role as a member of the Sheetz Strategic Planning Team, responsible for the long-term strategic planning for the company.
