Sheetz Corrals Stampede Technologies for Improved Performance
ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz, operator of 329 convenience stores throughout six states, employed Stampede Technologies' Stampede Application Acceleration Series, a provider of acceleration solutions for Web-based enterprise applications.
Stampede allows Sheetz' stores to achieve increased network and application performance that will improve user-end productivity without the need for network infrastructure upgrades.
The application is a two-sided hardware and software solution that maximizes the bandwidth performance of the chain's Web-based programs. It uses TurboStreaming to speed up compressed or encrypted objects; SSL Client-side Termination to accelerate SSL transactions; Intelligent Cache Differencing, Image Transformation, Connection Management and Load Balancing. The solution also supports HTTP/HTTPS, TCP and Web 2.0/AJAX applications.
"The Stampede software improved the performance of our Web-based applications at our retail locations. It was easy to install and deploy," said Jim Wenner, director of programming for Sheetz.
