ALTOONA, Pa. -- A new 5,000-square-foot Sheetz opened its doors in Mentor, Ohio, and with it, the company will donate $2,000 to the City of Mentor Youth Hockey League. This store brings the number of Sheetz locations in Ohio to 24, and the chain's total store count to 331.
The store opened to the public yesterday, and a grand opening celebration will be hosted by employees on Thursday, Feb. 15, complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. As part of the celebration, Sheetz will present $2,000 to the hockey group.
"It's exciting for us at Sheetz any time we are able to bring our latest concepts in convenience to a new area," said Louie Sheetz, executive vice president, marketing, Sheetz, Inc. "We just opened a store in nearby Twinsburg, so we're happy to continue growing in the state of Ohio. We are also glad to be supporting youth hockey in Mentor. Being involved in programs that benefit kids has been a long- standing tradition for the Sheetz family."
The new store will feature the chain's Made-to-Order menu of cold and toasted subs, paninis and hand tossed salads. In addition, hot fries, onion rings, chicken fingers and burgers made to order at lower prices than previously. Self-serve milkshakes, a cold grab-and-go case and self-serve bakery are also available.
A Sheetz Bros. Coffeez bar will also be staffed by a trained barista. At the bar, customers can order coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas -- in a number of ways: hot, frozen or iced. Also available is a variety of frozen fruit smoothies. For customers that prefer to serve themselves, premium brewed 100 percent Arabica bean coffee is also available -- in flavors Breakfast Blend, Serious Dark Roast, 100 percent Columbian and Vanilla Nut Cream.
For food and specialty coffee orders, Sheetz customers will order at touch screen kiosks that are located both inside the store and at the gas island. In addition, a new feature -- a full-service automatic carwash -- is available at the Mentor store.
