The chain is also sponsoring Race Day VIP activities for the fourth consecutive year.

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. will have a notable presence at this Sunday's Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. The convenience store chain is sponsoring American Olympic Medalist and 10,000-meter record holder Meb Keflezighi's appearances over the race weekend.

The Olympian, who is one of the most celebrated and decorated American long-distance runners, will be signing autographs, taking pictures with spectators and runners, and participating in a question-and-answer session. His career highlights include being a 2012 Olympic Men's Marathon Qualifier for this summer's London Olympics (personal best: 2:09:08); the 2009 New York City Marathon winner; American record holder in the 10,000-meter; and a 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist.

"We are pleased to be able to help bring such a decorated and inspirational athlete as Meb to this year's race," stated Louie Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing for Sheetz Inc. "He embodies the spirit of a strong work ethic and overcoming adversity to become a champion. His presence at the GNC Live Well Health and Fitness Expo will provide a great motivation to runners and spectators."

Sheetz is also sponsoring this year's Race Day VIP activities for the fourth consecutive time.

"Being involved in the Pittsburgh Marathon for several years now is something we feel very good about," Louie Sheetz added.

In addition to his career race achievements, Keflezighi is a motivational speaker and makes appearances to share his story of growing up in Eritrea to inspire current and future runners. He is also the author of "Run to Overcome."
