S. Abraham & Sons Plans 'Grand Slam' of a Trade Show

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- S. Abraham & Sons (SAS) is hoping to hit it out of the ballpark with its 2014 SAS Vendor Exhibit and Trade Show theme, "The Grand Slam - Spring is in Full Swing."

The 28th annual show, set to take place at DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, will feature 150 booths representing 253 manufacturers. Twenty-two suppliers will represent 104 new items for SAS. In addition, approximately 1,500 stores will be represented by buyers at this year's show.

The event opens Feb. 27 at 9 a.m. for multi-store owners and at 2 p.m. for all customers. It continues Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both days will begin with the singing of the national anthem and a parade of manufacturer mascots.

For attendees, it won't be all work and no play. "Home Plate Celebration" is the theme for the trade show's entertainment on Feb. 27. That evening will begin with a sit-down dinner and continue into the night with live music performed by local favorites the Simone Vitale Band, a "stump the ump game" featuring retired professional baseball umpires, and casino games.

According to SAS, the show will also include a "Third Base Convenience Store" that will be the "last stop before home" featuring a great selection of products, merchandising concepts and fixtures. Meanwhile, the "Field of Dreams" food court will have all the bases covered with trade show offerings such as Fruit Ridge Farms sandwiches, subs and salads, Red Hots from Hot off the Grill, and Beantown and Joe Coffee.

In addition, attendees will have the chance to win a 2014 Jeep Wrangler.
