Rutter's Adds to Foodservice Menu

YORK, Pa. -- The Rutter's Farm Stores chain of convenience stores recently introduces several new foodservice items to its menu at 30 locations that offer touchscreen ordering.

New foodservice items include sliced roast pork au jus and something called "pigtails" -- two hot dogs cut in long strips and fried, which when cooked, curl to resemble their namesake. Pigtails retail for $1.29 and are served in a cup with a choice of ketchup, yellow mustard or Dijon mustard.

The sliced roast pork au jus can be part of a dinner bowl for $5.99, or a sandwich for $4.39. New kids' meal additions include an order of pigtails or one chicken or hamburger slider for $2.99. More new items include seasoned potato wedges available in regular ($1.39) and large ($1.79) sizes; pork egg rolls, $1.39; three fried dumplings in three flavors -- apple, strawberry cheesecake and chocolate swirl -- for $1.79; and offering Canadian bacon as a breakfast-meat option.

Rutter's operates 55 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties of Pennsylvania.
