Ruby, Success Systems Form Partnership

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Success Systems Inc., the back-office access vendor for companies such as Shell Oil Co., Exxon Mobil Corp. and Sunoco Inc., has received an endorsement from VeriFone Inc. to offer remote polling for the VeriFone Ruby Super System.

This retail solution is designed specifically for independent retailers who, while recognizing the benefits of store-level scanning and automation, cannot justify the cost of implementing a store-level PC, or may not have the personnel to operate the solution.

Retailers who implement the Success Systems/Ruby Remote application are able to identify inconsistency in operations, such as cashier ring errors, control of product margins, identification and elimination of shrink and inventory control, said Scott Tarlow, general manager of Success Systems.

"Given the fact that we are seeing a consistent 8- to 15-percent growth in revenues on the same customer traffic counts and transactions with this solution, the added value really becomes bottom-line profit," Tarlow said.

For example, a small North Carolina retailer, whom Tarlow declined to name, is seeing a bottom-line increase of $16,000 to $20,000 per month across three stores. The chain's return on investment (ROI) was under 30 days.

The agreement makes Success Systems the only back-office systems vendor recognized by VeriFone that is able to implement scanning and pricebook functions along with a host of back-office automation applications for Ruby POS systems using VeriFone's Ruby Manager Remote software.
