Revamped MGD 64 Hits the Market

CHICAGO -- It's out with the old and in with the new as MillerCoors unveils its new Miller64 beer. Previously known as MGD 64, the revamped beer started appearing in store coolers this month.

Like its predecessor, Miller64 still has 64 calories and 2.4 grams of carbohydrates per 12 ounces, according to MillerCoors. The beer's relaunch will be supported with new television, radio, digital and out-of-home advertising that demonstrates how Miller64 complements a balanced lifestyle for legal-drinking-age consumers who are committed to making good choices with their daily responsibilities and in their social lives, the brewer added.

In addition to the name change, Miller64 also sports a different look than the original. It is available in cans and clear bottles featuring the brand's new logo, and smoky silver and red labels.

"Whether it's the man who gets a little exercise playing recreational softball or the woman who takes the stairs instead of the elevator, we are confident consumers will appreciate that Miller64 won't undo all their efforts to maintain a balanced lifestyle," said Rita Patel, marketing manager for the brand. "Miller64 is the perfect light beer choice for today's consumers who are always on-the-go, but strive to balance their responsibilities and social life."
