Raritan Quick Chek Celebrates 40 Years

Store was the ninth location the convenience chain opened after its inception in 1967.

RARITAN BOROUGH, N.J -- The Quick Chek store at 76 West Somerset St. here will mark its fourth decade serving customers and the surrounding community on Oct 27.

The Raritan store opened its doors for business on Oct. 27, 1969, and was the ninth location the chain opened after its inception in 1967. Managed by Store Leader Therese Lamontagne since November 2006, the Quick Chek currently employees a team of 34 local team members, according to a report by the Somerset Reporter.

"Quick Chek is much more than a reliable stop for fresh coffee in the morning, a great sub at lunch or a quick stop to pick up dinner on the way home," Lamontagne said. "Our customers also know us as a neighborhood partner where for the past 40 years we have proudly supported community organizations, such as the Raritan Recreation Commission and Raritan Recreation Softball program. We are delighted to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our friends and neighbors throughout the area."

Quick Chek, based in Whitehouse Station, N.J., operates 120 c-stores in New Jersey and southern New York, including 12 pharmacy stores and 23 locations offering fuel.
