Radiant Systems Purchases Texas Digital Systems

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Radiant Systems Inc., a technology provider to convenience stores, acquired Texas Digital Systems Inc. for an undisclosed sum. Texas Digital manufactures order confirmation displays and digital signage solutions intended to allow businesses to improve point-of-sale order accuracy and speed of service.

As CSNews Online reported on July 12, Radiant itself was purchased by NCR Corp. for $1.2 billion. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, until the NCR transaction closes, Radiant will continue to operate as a separate company. The NCR-Radiant deal is expected to close this quarter, subject to regulatory approval.

As for its purchase of Texas Digital, Radiant COO Andy Heyman said order confirmation and digital signage presents a great growth opportunity for the company. "This acquisition enhances our ability to accelerate the adoption of digital signage," he said. "Integrating Texas Digital's products into our solution offerings will drive more value for our customers."

Texas Digital, founded in 1972, has performed more than 22,000 installations in 40 countries. Dennis Davidson, its president and COO, said both companies involved in the acquisition have complementary products and strong businesses. "Our companies are well aligned in the markets we serve and we are excited to become part of their team," he added.
