RaceTrac Kicks Off 'Sodapalooza 365' Contest

ATLANTA -- RaceTrac Petroleum wants its convenience stores to be consumers' destination to cool off this summer with fountain drinks, and the chain has launched a new contest to get them there.

"SodaPalooza 365", as the new contest is called, offers two weekly chances to win free fountain drinks for a year -- both through the social media site, Twitter, with the hashtag #Sodapalooza.

On Fridays, the winning contestant is the first to re-tweet that week's posted #Sodapalooza message. Then on Mondays, the winner is the first to upload a TwitPic featuring the contestant, a RaceTrac team member and a 32-ounce RaceTrac fountain cup with the #Sodapalooza hashtag.

The contest launched May 21 and runs through Aug. 31, according to the retailer's Facebook page.

At the end of the contest, 30 Twitter fanatics will have won free fountain drinks for a year (awarded in the form of 365 32-ounce fountain drink coupons).  The convenience store chain will also award one grand-prize "Sodapalooza 365" prize package valued at $5,000. This will consist of $3000 in RaceTrac Pocket Fuel cards and 365 "Fresh Free Lunch Combo" coupons, the company said.

Weekly winners are automatically entered into the grand-prize drawing.
