QuikTrip Trials CashWorks Financial Kiosks

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- CashWorks, a financial services company, was selected to install check-cashing and bill payment minikiosks in 34 QuikTrip convenience store locations in Wichita, Kan., by the end of July.

The minikiosks will allow customers with or without a CashWorks card to pay bills at more than 4,400 companies including utilities, cable and phone-service providers. To use the services without a CashWorks card, only cash on-hand will be required. Step-by-step instructions are available through the kiosks, and new users are approved for check-cashing and bill payments in minutes, according to the company.

"We've known for some time check cashing and bill payment were services we wanted to provide," said Paula Cotten, vice president of finance and treasurer of QuikTrip. "We asked (CashWorks) to work with us on a solution, not sell us their package. They delivered the minikiosk with both check cashing and bill payment options."

The minikiosk platform is an addition to the company's PayPort POS system, which also provides check-cashing services.

"The CashWorks minikiosk provides a safe, convenient, competitively priced way for consumers to cash payroll or government-issued checks, and now, to pay their bills as well,'' said Will Sowell, CashWorks general manager. "We are excited to partner with a top-tier retailer like QuikTrip and to bring needed financial services to their customers."
