QuikTrip Noted 'No Layoffs' by CNNMoney
NATIONAL REPORT -- Citing the global financial crisis has led many companies to slice payrolls, CNNMoney published a list Friday of nine companies that, as of mid-January, have never had a layoff.
QuikTrip, which ranks 27th on Money’s list of Best Companies, was the only c-store retailer on the list. According to the magazine, "This 24-hour convenience store chain is privately held, allowing it to pour profits back into stores instead of divvying them up among shareholders. Meanwhile, its strong balance sheet has helped it to weather economic downturns without having to cut staff."
Other retail companies on the list were The Container Store, Stew Leonard’s and Publix.
