QuikTrip CEO Recognized with Hero Award

TULSA, Okla. -- At the 83rd annual meeting for the Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW), held last month here, QuikTrip Corp. CEO Chet Cadieux was honored with the Hero Award for increasing the company's campaign contributions from $4,800 in 1984 to more than $1.2 million in 2007, the Greater Tulsa Reporter reported.

The award was given by outgoing board chair and CEO of Saint Francis Health System, Jake Henry Jr., and Gary Paxton, CEO of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group and incoming chair of the TAUW board of directors, the report stated.

Cadieux's QuikTrip was also recognized during the meeting as a member of the Million Dollar Club -- a place reserved for those campaigns that contribute upwards of $1 million, according to the report.

"The Tulsa area is such a remarkably giving community," Paxton said at the meeting. "Because of the thousands of campaign volunteers and literally hundreds of thousands of donors, more than 2,500 people are helped each day in our community."
