QuikTrip to Build First 'Generation 3' Store in Arizona

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. -- If you want to take a look at what the future QuikTrip store will be like, a visit to the Tucson, Ariz., area will be warranted. The convenience chain is building a "Generation 3" gas station and convenience store here that will boast 5,668 square feet on two acres in Steam Pump Village on North Oracle Road.

Development and landscape plans for the new store were approved on June 14. What will make the new QuikTrip location so different than its predecessors is that it will feature varied roof lines, slump block, stacked ledgestone and cornice roof features, according to the Arizona Daily Star.

Also, the new store will provide additional entrances, exterior seating, coffee and ice cream bars and awnings. "We have not built anything like this [before]," Mike Wooten, a representative from QuikTrip's Tucson division, told the newspaper.
