Q Mart, Sheboygan Athletic Club Honor Military

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association and Q Mart Marketplace Stores are working with the Wisconsin American Legion to raise funds to support families of more than 10,000 Wisconsin residents currently serving in the military all over the world, according to The Sheboygan Press.

The Hometown Heroes Program debuted Memorial Day and continues through July 4. Q Mart is working with the Sheboygan Athletic Club and its sponsorship of Military Appreciation Day at Wildwood Park, and half of the money collected through the program will be returned to Sheboygan County to recognize the veterans, men and women currently serving and their families, the report stated.

"Simply ask the cashier for details and they'll do all the work," Scott Stangel, president of the Sheboygan Athletic Club, said in the report. "You'll get a deduction with your receipt and you can go home knowing that you've supported Hometown Heroes in your own community."

Additionally, Sheboygan Military Appreciation Day will be July 26 at Wildwood Baseball Park, and will feature a baseball game between the Sheboygan A's and a military all-star team of active men from all branches of the military. Pre-game ceremonies will include recognition of all those who served our country, according to The Sheboygan Press.
