General Tobacco Opens Arizona Distribution Center

MAYODAN, N.C. -- Tobacco product manufacturer General Tobacco (GT) opened a distribution center called GT West in Phoenix recently, which will carry its complete line of low-priced tobacco products.

"The distribution center exclusively services GT customers at no extra cost to them," DJ Aleman, president of GT West, said in a statement. "Orders are processed and shipped out the same day, providing the best possible service."

He added, "Having a service center in the same time zone should have a significant impact on customer satisfaction and sales."

The new facility will expedite delivery time to accommodate GT's West Coast customers, according to a company statement. Transit times for Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Southern California are one day; two days to central California, Colorado, Utah and Idaho; and three days to farther destinations including Oregon and Washington State.

"General Tobacco’s mission is to provide superior quality tobacco products at competitive prices," J. Ronald Denman, executive vice president of General Tobacco, said in a statement. "Now, our focus is to ramp up our customer service."

In other company news, General Tobacco recently introduced a new American Blend line of products, and all product packaging was recently redesigned, with a bolder emphasis on the fact that all its products are made in the U.S.
