QuikTrip Pilots In-store Bill Payments

TULSA, Okla. -- QuikTrip is currently piloting automated bill payment kiosks in two of its locations here, as part of an agreement with ChoicePay Inc. that began in November, the Oklahoman reported.

The program allows customers to pay their gas and electric bills from Public Service Co. of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Natural Gas and other national services, according to the report.

"The opportunity to partner with a leading convenience store chain that happens to be based in Tulsa is certainly a plus for us while also bringing a benefit to the people in the community," Greg Adelson, ChoicePay president, told the paper. "We look forward to expanding our partnership and the number of locations in 2008 and beyond."

The QuikTrip kiosks only accept cash, and customers receive receipts with payment ID numbers as proof of payment, a spokeswoman for ChoicePay told the paper. A convenience fee is charged for each payment, which varies depending on the biller. Customers can select English or Spanish language instructions, and the process to complete the transaction takes less than two minutes, company officials told the paper.

"We are certainly glad these were added," Don Sherry, a spokesman for Oklahoma Natural Gas, told the Oklahoman. "We want to provide flexibility to our customers to make paying their bills as convenient as possible."
