LAS VEGAS — The game show "Monopoly Millionaires' Club" is launching with a new multi-state lottery scratch ticket this month to celebrate the debut of the TV show on March 28-29. Fourteen states will participate in the initial rollout of the ticket, created by Scientific Games under license from Hasbro Inc.
Originally created as a multi-state lottery draw game in 2014, these states will offer the scratch ticket this month: Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Tennessee.
"This lottery scratch game captures the essence and fun of the 'Monopoly Millionaires' Club' game show that has already started production in Las Vegas," stated Steve Saferin, president of properties group and chief creative officer for Scientific Games. "The studio audience reaction to the show has been wildly enthusiastic, and there's no better way to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Monopoly than to give fans of the game yet another way to play."
Production on "Monopoly Millionaires' Club" recently began at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas inside a custom-built, 48,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art structure, according to the announcement. The show is co-hosted by actor, comedian and television star Billy Gardell and game show host Todd Newton.
In the first week of production, two contestants won $1 million and the show awarded a grand total of more than $3.5 million in cash and prizes. During the show, single contestants have the chance to win a $1 million prize, and each section of the audience shares in their contestant's winnings.
In coordination with the launch of the new scratch tickets, players can try to quality to win a chance to compete on the show by registering their "Monopoly Millionaires' Club" tickets online at www.playmmc.com. At the website, they can build Monopoly-themed Lottery Property Sets that earn them entries into a random drawing to participate.
