Massachusetts Chain Rebrands to Hess

HYANNIS, Mass. -- Christy's of Cape Cod, a 13-unit c-store chain headquartered here, will fly the Hess banner brand gasoline beginning Sunday, Feb. 1, according to a report in the Cape Cod Times.

The convenience chain owner, Christy Mihos, told the paper he is pleased with the new partnership and expects to be able to offer lower fuel prices as a result. Mihos' c-stores currently offer Exxon or unbranded fuel, through Gulf Oil, according to the report. A call to Mihos by CSNews Online was unreturned by press time.

This banner change comes just two years after Christy's changed its gas brand from CITGO to Gulf, the Times reported.

In other Christy's news, the chain is moving forward with plans to renovate a former Mobil station in Dennis, Mass., and reopen it as a Christy's location.
