Cubby's Enters Sioux Falls Market Through Kum & Go

Omaha, Neb. -- Six Kum & Go stations in the Sioux Falls, S.D., area will mark the entrance of Cubby's convenience stores into the market, as Cubby's, based here, recently won the contract to manage the stores, the Argus Leader reported.

The stores will be transitioned April 21-22, when Cubby's will close the stores to do inventory, according to the report.

"Kum & Go [was a] good operator, and we hope to do as well as [it has] done," Cubby's president Richard Cosaert told the paper.

Cosaert hopes to keep all the employees at the stores, but Kum & Go brands will no longer be sold, the report stated. The stores may also see expanded food-to-go items in the future, he told the Leader.

In 2008, Cubby's bought two locations in Mitchell, S.D. With the six additional stores, Cubby's will hire a supervisor for the area, Cosaert said.

Cubby's also operates several grocery stores, truck stops and convenience stores in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, the report stated.
