7-Eleven Will Bring KeyMe Kiosks to More Markets in 2016

DALLAS — 7-Eleven Inc. is growing its KeyMe offering significantly, expanding from two markets in Chicago and New York City to many new locations across the country.

7-Eleven was KeyMe’s first retail partner via a pilot program in 2013. As CSNews Online previously reported, this program was expanded in 2014.

KeyMe is a self-service kiosk and digital solution intended to accurately and conveniently copy nearly every type of key. KeyMe captures a digital snapshot of a key in the cloud and enables users to reprint their keys at a kiosk at a lower price than using an emergency locksmith.

"KeyMe and 7-Eleven began our commercial partnership with a pilot in 2013. Over the past three years, we became an investor through 7-Ventures, our company's corporate venture arm, and have expanded kiosks to more stores and cities," said Raja Doddala, 7-Eleven's vice president of omni-channel and new ventures. "We look forward to broadening our relationship with KeyMe with a commitment to expand kiosk deployment to more 7-Eleven stores in 2016."

KeyMe has also struck deals with several other retailers, including Bed Bath & Beyond, Rite Aid, Lowe’s, Albertsons and Ahold USA. KeyMe is on track to ship more than 1,000 new kiosks this year and 10,000 new kiosks within the next 36 months.

Dallas-based 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses nearly 10,500 7-Eleven stores in North America.
