    7-Eleven, Comcast Make Bill-Paying Easier for Cash Customers

    More than 7,700 stores offer payment via PayNearMe.

    IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven Inc. and Comcast are giving customers who want to pay their TV, Internet or phone bills with cash the option to do so by visiting any of more than 7,700 7-Eleven stores. A list of participating stores is available here.

    "Improving the customer experience is our top priority, which is why we're giving customers more options when it comes to interacting with us," said Mark Allen, vice president, strategy & development, customer service, Comcast Cable. "About 5 percent of our customers prefer to pay their bills in cash each month. This new partnership gives those customers a payment option that is convenient and simple."

    To pay their bills in cash, customers must:

    • Go to the "Pay Bill" section of the XFINITY My Account app and select the new "Cash via PayNearMe" option;
    • Select the amount they want to pay and follow the instructions provided by PayNearMe until they receive a bar code; and
    • Visit a participating 7-Eleven store, scan the bar code on their phone and pay the amount they selected (plus a $1.25 PayNearMe convenience fee per transaction).

    7-Eleven will provide a paper receipt. Customers will receive a digital receipt on their phone. The payment will post to the account within 48 business hours.

    "We've seen steady growth in the number and size of businesses that use PayNearMe to remotely collect cash payments," said Christian Solomine, PayNearMe's senior vice president of enterprise and government. "Customers consistently tell us they want to pay at convenient locations on their own time and schedule. Comcast's addition of PayNearMe as a cash payment option is an exciting example of what businesses can do to improve the customer experience."
