Nielsen has rolled out a U.S. e-commerce measurement solution, a multi-sourced tool designed to deliver a comprehensive consumer view of fast-moving consumer goods online sales in the U.S. market. The measurement approach includes online purchase data (ePOS) and consumer-sourced data sets, including: e-receipts, Nielsen Homescan data, and other Nielsen proprietary consumer data. The e-commerce measurement solution also links item descriptions to known UPC codes where available, which enables comparisons of online and offline performance. It also allows users to more easily benchmark and identify growth opportunities, assess, evaluate, and gain insights into how to improve online performance.
